Smooth-E, the rapping
alter ego of comedian Eric Schwartz, unveils his
unrivaled mix of hilarious Jew tunes on “Kosher Kuts.”
With a huge cult
following and several tracks already deemed
“classics,” Smooth-E is poised to set the game on
fire like a menorah.
His holiday smash,
“Hanukkah Hey Ya!” set off a cultural phenomenon,
beating out Adam Sandler as the number-one Hanukkah
song on Dr. Demento’s legendary comedy music show.
San Diego’s broadcast behemoth 91X DJ Chris Cantore
echoes Demento, saying, “‘Goodbye’ Adam Sandler’s
‘Chanukkah Song’ and ‘hello’ to ‘Hanukkah Hey Ya!’”
Vibe magazine online described it as a “gem,” while
TV outlets from Fox 11’s Good Day Live to WPIX in
New York used it as segment music during the
holidays.
The song has drawn
millions of downloads and spawned a fan-made flash
animation, turning it into the Hanukkah greeting and
the subject of international headlines.
As a follow-up to the
Hanukkah success, Smooth-E’s Passover jam, “Matzah!,”
has been animated by JibJab. Famous for their
election spoof, “This Land is Your Land,” the team
landed “Matzah!” on The Tonight Show, CNN Showbiz
Today and more.
Tracks from the CD
have been played on countless radio stations
nationwide and syndicated on Premiere Radio
Networks, XM Comedy and will be played on Sirius
Satellite Radio.
Schwartz is the host
of the nationally syndicated “Animal Atlas” and has
made appearances on Comic View (BET), The Sharon
Osbourne Show (The WB), Latino Laugh Festival – The
Show (SiTV), Live in Hollywood (UPN), Loco Comedy
Jam (Mun2) and The WB`s College Tour. A finalist for
the Andy Kaufman Award at the New York Comedy
Festival and runner up in the 2004 San Francisco
Comedy Competition, Schwartz is played on radio
